• Weigh the amount of OK6228/1 candle wax needed for your project.
• For 6 large muffin candles using a regular muffin pan we recommend 2lbs of wax for the bottom and 2lbs of wax for the top. We also recommend using a small wick zinc core wick (51-32-18).

• Heat the candle wax to between 140°F-160°F using a double-boiler system.
• Use a candle thermometer to check temperature.

• While wax is melting set up regular muffin pan by inserting 2 or 3 cupcake papers into each cavity.
• Then place the appropriate size wick pins into into each cavity.

• Add up to 6% fragrance by melted wax weight not to exceed 1 ounce of scent to 1 pound of wax.

• Add dye until desired color is achieved.
• You can test color by dropping a few drops of wax onto a piece of white paper.

• Stir thoroughly to incorporate scent and dye.

• Pour Wax into regular muffin pan.
• Don't forget you will need to save some wax for the 2nd pour and topping.

• Allow to cool as slowly as possible.
• Do not place in a water bath or refrigerator to accelerate the cooling process.

• Once the first pour has completely cooled, remove the candles with wick pins from the pan to make sure it releases.
• Return candles with wick pins to the muffin pan and top off the candles as needed.
• After the 2nd pour has completely cooled candles are ready to be wicked and topped.

• Remove candles from your muffin pan.
• Remove cupcake papers and wick pins.
• Insert appropriate wick for your candles. 

• Reheat remaining wax so you can top the candle.
• Once the wax has melted, let it set up for a few minutes. 
• Using a metal whisk, whip the wax. Your wax will change from liquid to an icing type consistency.
• Once the texture is thick enough, with a spoon, mound top of the muffin candle, applying to the sides and top of candle.
• Work quickly, use your fingers if necessary to smooth out.
• Embed candle chunks into muffin candle.
• Smooth around the edges of the embeds until you are pleased with the outcome of your muffin candle.
• if wax becomes too stiff, place it back in a wet bath to melt and whip again until you have finished topping the candle.
• Note: You may have to add a little more dye to wax, when whipped it becomes a lighter color.
• Experiment and have a good time with making your muffin candles.

• Trim wick as needed.

Never melt wax on a gas stove, it has a Flash Point & is Flammable.
Never leave wax unattended.
